If you are familiar with the music of Jelly Roll Morton, Jabbo Smith, Fats Waller, King Oliver, Wilmoth Houdini, and Lord Executor you'll know why you won't want to miss Asheville's street smart jazz band 'Big Nasty' on their first visit to Ithaca July 13-15. Lots of horns, a Trumansburg native on banjo, and every song is a knockout - it's small group jazz from the 1920's with some calypso and hokum mixed in.

Ithaca Underground favorite 'Fight a Scary Dog' opens at 7:00PM.

Schooled and cooled by the streets of Asheville, NC, Big Nasty plays the small combo jazztime, ragtime, swing of the 1920s with powerful rhythm, fine horn breaks, and soulful singing.
